BY TRAIN

There are regular trains from Paris, Gare de Lyon to Fontainebleau-Avon.  Search for train times, prices and availability, please visit the SNCF website.

Upon your arrival to Fontainebleau-Avon, you can the bus (letter 'A', direction 'La Fourche') to the town centre, which is just a short walk to INSEAD, or you can take a taxi directly to the campus.

If you plan to take the Eurostar from London or the Thalys from Brussels, you will arrive at Paris, Gare du Nord station.  From there, you can take the regional train line - RER D (green line) two stops to Paris, Gare de Lyon.

Once at Paris Gare de Lyon station, go to the "Guichet Banlieue" to buy your ticket for Fontainebleau-Avon. At the desk, you can check which final destination will be displayed on the departure board. It will be usually either Montereau, Montargis, Sens or Laroche-Migennes.

Free Friday Shuttle Service:

If you come by train from Paris, a free shuttle service is available to take you from the Fontainebleau-Avon train station to INSEAD.  The Shuttle departs from the Avon side of the station (the platform onto which you arrive from Paris) every Friday at 13:22 (meeting the 12:42 departure from Paris-Gare de Lyon). The vehicle will have an INSEAD sign on the windshield.

There is also a free shuttle service available for your return to the station after the Information Session.  Departing from the road in front of the Main Reception, the shuttles leave INSEAD at: 15:20, 16:10, 16:40, 17:20 and 18:30.

BY PLANE

Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport is north of Paris and approximately 100km from Fontainebleau, while Orly airport is located to the south of Paris and is approximately 45km from Fontainebleau.

By Taxi from an Airport

From Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport taxi travel time to INSEAD is approximately 90 minutes and costs approximately 150€.  From Orly airport the taxi trip takes about 45 minutes and costs approximately 115€.

By Train from an Airport

From Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport: take the coach from the airport to the Gare de Lyon station, or take the Metro train on RER line B to Gare du Nord station, change to RER line D to Gare de Lyon station. When at Gare de Lyon station, follow the instructions above. Cost is approximately 22€, journey time is 2 hours although this can vary considerably depending on the traffic in Paris.

From Orly airport: take a taxi from Orly to Gare de Lyon station in Paris, then follow the instructions above. Cost is approximately 39€, journey time is approximately 2 hours. 

BY CAR

From the north (e.g. Paris): Take the A6 autoroute to the Fontainebleau exit. Take the N7 to the major inter-section just outside Fontainebleau. Do not turn off for Avon/Fontainebleau centre, but continue straight on, following signs for Lyon/Orleans. INSEAD is 200m further on the right, at the next set of traffic lights.

From the south: take the A6 autoroute to the Fontainebleau exit. Follow the road to the roundabout and obelisk, and then follow signs for Paris. You will pass INSEAD on your left, but you cannot turn left. Continue 200m to the major intersection where you should bear right to double-back to return to INSEAD.
